The Hamilton Drain East System Storm Sewer project will improve drainage in portions of the Highland Park neighborhood.  The proposed improvements will completely remove the old wooden box and replace with a new modern storm sewer in a new alignment through the neighborhood.  The new storm sewer flows will be managed by multiple detention basins that will treat storm water and provide additional green space.  The new storm sewer will travel through backyards and existing alleyways where possible to avoid months of street closures and access issues that would be required with an on-street alignment. The alignment of storm sewers through back yards will also minimize disruptions to utility services throughout construction.
